Stillwater Peggy F. Murphy Grief Center Offering Free Events
News Release
FORT WAYNE — Stillwater Hospice’s Peggy F. Murphy Community Grief Center in Fort Wayne is offering several free events in October.
Meditation and Mindfulness is a four-week program that provides an introduction to meditation and mindfulness as tools for daily living.
Mindfulness is a moving meditation, carried throughout life’s daily activities and interactions. People may learn the basics to help them be present with sensation, mood and thought while moving about their day.
The program is 5:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 2, 9, 16 and 23 at the center at 5920 Homestead Road. RSVP is required by Wednesday, Sept. 27. People should call (260) 435-3261 or email [email protected] to reserve a spot.
Also offered at the center is Healing Through Art.
Art therapy is about the process of creation and emotion, rather than the end product of the art itself. It is rooted in the belief that the arts are inherently healing and life enhancing for everyone at any stage in life and any background or life experience.
The Healing Through Art four-week series offers an outlet for adult participants to process their grief through outward expression and creativity. No experience is required.
The program is 6-8 p.m. Oct. 5, 12, 19 and 26 at the center. RSVP is required by Sept. 27. People should call (260) 435-3261 or email [email protected] to reserve a spot.
