Bowen Center To Break Ground On New Plymouth Facility
News Release
PLYMOUTH — The public is invited to attend a groundbreaking ceremony launching Bowen Center’s construction of a new integrated health care facility in Marshall County. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at 2920 Miller Drive, Plymouth, southwest of U.S. 30 and Pioneer Drive.
When construction is completed in fall 2024, the Bowen Health Clinic site will offer expanded primary health care, mental and behavioral health care, addiction recovery treatment, and life skills coaching services. Future services may also include optometry and dentistry.
Bowen Center officials cut the ribbon last week on Bowen Health Clinic co-located inside one of its mental health outpatient offices on Illinois Street in Plymouth. The aim was to provide patients with primary health care immediately while the new building is under construction.
“Individuals struggling with mental illness and people living in poverty are seven times more likely to be unemployed, have multiple chronic diseases and as a result, die 20 years earlier than expected,” said Bowen Center president and chief executive officer Dr. Rob Ryan. “As we grow our integrated care footprint in northern Indiana, we are helping more patients find accessible health care for their body and mind, no matter their ability to pay.”
The building project is the second to be launched by Bowen Center. A new building in Whitley County is expected to open by the end of 2023.
Bowen Health Clinic welcomes Medicaid, and no one is turned away for an inability to pay. To make an appointment, call (888) 470-0082.
