Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 5:06 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, East US 30, Warsaw. Driver: Christine A. Adams, 70, Brubaker Street B., Warsaw. Adams’ vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
- 1:48 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, North Riverlawn Drive, north of West CR 350N, Warsaw. Drivers: Angel D. Fuller, 29, Carrington Boulevard, Warsaw; and Jocelyn M. Shepherd, 21, Fisher Avenue, Warsaw. Fuller’s vehicle crossed the center line and hit Shepherd’s vehicle head-on. Damage up to $5,000.
- 8:45 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, South SR 13, near East CR 600S, Pierceton. Driver: Dora E. Bays, 46, East CR 850S, Claypool. Bays’ vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $10,000.
- 6:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, East SR 14, west of South County Farm Road, Warsaw. Driver: Ashley N. Bender, 39, West South Street, Burket. Bender’s vehicle hit a deer. Bender and a passenger in her vehicle, Ella Bender, 12, Burket, complained of general body pain but refused treatment at the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
- 6:14 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, South CR 400E, south of East CR 600S, Warsaw. Driver: Stacey . Gorski, 41, East CR 800S, Claypool. Gorski’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
- 7:46 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, North Arlington Court, north of East Barrington Place, Warsaw. Driver: Corey R. Culp, 53, Shaffer Road, Warsaw. The garbage truck Culp was driving hit the back of a parked vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
Marshall County
Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 8:10 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, US 31, at 11th Road, Plymouth. Drivers: Arturo Mendez, White Pigeon; and Jarrod Nichols, Milan. Mendez’s vehicle and Nichols’ vehicle were involved in a serious accident causing Mendez’s vehicle to be engulfed in flames. Passerby assisted by helping Mendez out of the vehicle before it was completely engulfed. In the other vehicle Nichols was able to get out, but his passenger, Riley Duerstock, Batesville, was trapped in the vehicle. All three individuals were taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for their injuries.
