Linda Kay (Snyder) Grimm Smith passed away at 5:50 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023, at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne at the age of 74.

Linda K. Smith
She was born on March 26, 1949, in Warsaw, to Dorothy E. Creighton Snyder and George E. Snyder. Linda grew up in Warsaw with her family and with friends and relatives in the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Atwood. She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1967 in the top 10% of her class. Linda was proud to have earned her Bachelor of Science with a business degree in 1977 from Ball State University, and she also earned an administrative professional certification.
Linda was married on Aug. 12, 1977, to Alan A. Grimm, a local farmer. They shared 10 years together before his unexpected passing on Dec. 27, 1987. She adjusted to her new life and raised her children. Linda saw them go to college and was always a very proud mom to their many accomplishments. Later in life she was blessed to have met Dan L. Smith and married her best friend on Oct. 25, 2005. They shared almost 18 years living their lives together, loving and laughing until her passing.
Linda worked in office administration at Zimmer Inc. in Warsaw for 10 years where she made many lifetime friends. She worked in local banking for 10 years and was recognized for outstanding sales and customer service. Linda had a heart for service and enjoyed volunteering for various organizations such as Warsaw schools and delivered Mobile Meals. She attended Warsaw Community Church where she helped support those in need and also attended Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Linda sponsored a monthly breakfast group for Gals of WCHS Class of 1967 for many years from 2008 and was on the WCHS Class of 1967 reunion planning committee. She and her husband, Dan Smith, enjoyed supporting local achievements such as the Warsaw Citizens Police Academy and the need for police dog security vests.
Linda lived a wonderful full life and was a courageous, strong, beautiful soul who was loved by many. With her kind heart and sense of humor, she spent her time on this earth living her life to the fullest and loving people in a great way. In the end she lost her battle to Alzheimer’s and dementia, but that disease could never erase all of the memories her family will cherish and lovingly remember about her.
She leaves behind her husband, Dan L. Smith, Warsaw; son, Adam Grimm, Warsaw; daughter, Ashley (Brent) Doty, Syracuse; stepson, Jason (Karen) Smith; stepdaughter, Shera (Jermaine) Chaney; and three grandchildren, Luke, Logan and Emma Doty.
