SYRACUSE — Wawasee Kiwanis donated $750 to help teachers at Syracuse Elementary pay for classroom expenses.

In the past the Kiwanis have given elementary teachers $50 each ($1,500 total), but this year they could only give $25 each ($750 total).

Wawasee Kiwanis has a $25,000 budget and is focused on helping youth in the Syracuse community. The organization feels that helping the teachers will ultimately benefit the students. The local group has already budgeted $1,500 for next year.
