WARSAW — A Claypool man was recently arrested for allegedly stealing a vehicle.
Taylor Aaron Julian, 32, 2307 W. 800S, Claypool, is charged with auto theft, a level 6 felony.
On Nov. 16, 2022, a man reported his 1998 Honda Civic being stolen from his home in Warsaw. The man said the vehicle was taken while he was in the hospital, which was sometime between Sept. 1, 2022, and Nov. 16, 2022.
According to court documents, the man was told Julian took the vehicle and was possibly in the South Bend area.
On April 7, 2023, officers with the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department reported the Civic had been located. A St. Joseph County officer pulled the Civic over after discovering the license plate on it returned to a Chevrolet Malibu. Julian was driving the vehicle at the time and said the vehicle belonged to the man, who he described as a friend.
When the man filed the stolen report, he said Julian did not have permission to possess or drive the vehicle.
Julian was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Aug. 16, 2023, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
