Leota M. Holloway, 98, of Talma, passed at 3:42 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, 2023, at Life Care Center of Rochester.

Leota was born on Sept. 28, 1924, in Fulton County to the late Fred A. and Anna Lavera (Stockberger) Horn. On Nov. 10, 1945, in Larwill, she married Samuel A. Holloway, who preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1995.
She was a 1943 graduate of Mentone High School. Afterward, she attended a secretarial school in Dayton, Ohio. She was a homemaker and worked as a seamstress for many years. Leota was an exceptional gardener and enjoyed cooking and crafting. Her memory will live on in the lives she changed and, of course, her recipes. The most important thing to her was to worship God at Riverview Community Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Diana Holloway, of Talma; sons, Jerry and wife Sue Holloway, of Warsaw, and Steven Holloway, of Athens; several grandchildren, who include Andy and wife Jackie Holloway, of Akron; a sister, Shirley, and husband Richard Wine, of Warsaw.
Leota was preceded in death by her parents; husband; several brothers and sisters; and daughter-in-law, Ronda Holloway.
The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at King Memorial Home at 101 N. Tucker St. Mentone, with Pastor Rod Ruberg officiating.
The interment will take place in the Mentone Cemetery, Mentone, next to her husband.
Visitation hours will be held from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Aug 24, at King Memorial Home, Mentone.
