LAFAYETTE — The Lafayette and Fort Wayne-based car dealerships have been acquired by Michigan-based Ziegler Automotive Group. The financial details of the acquirement have not yet been disclosed.

The two Indiana dealerships have been officially rebranded, now representing the Ziegler name. No Hoosier employment is expected to be negatively affected by the deal. The dealerships currently employ 85 and 45 people, respectively. Ziegler, as a whole, employs about 2,500 people throughout Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin.

These are not the only Ziegler automotive dealerships in Indiana. Ziegler owns a Merrillville Subaru dealership, which employs 55. They are also responsible for Ford and Lincoln dealerships, which are located in Elkhart.
