SIDNEY — Rebecca Adams is running for a seat on Sidney Town Council as a Democrat.
Adams has been living in Sidney for three and a half years and moved to Kosciusko County in 2006.
Adams graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with her associate degree in accounting. She is currently a caretaker for her husband and was looking for an opportunity to help the town when she signed up to run.
Adams has been married to Eric Adams for 13 years, and they have seven children with two still living at home. In her free time, Rebecca enjoys crafting.
If elected, she hopes to install a park in the town for children to enjoy.
Rebecca will participate in the Sidney Democratic Town Convention on Saturday, Aug. 19, to determine the three candidates from that party to run in the election come November. It starts at 1 p.m. in the community room adjacent to the fire station.
Any registered voters in Sidney are welcome to participate in the convention and don’t necessarily have to have voted for Democrats in the past to participate in it.
They will just have to affirm either they voted as a Democrat in the last primary election in 2022 and voted for a majority of Democrats in the last regular election in 2022 or plan to vote primarily for Democrats in the 2023 election.
