SIDNEY — Brandon Allen is running for his second term in Sidney Town Council as a Democratic candidate.
Allen has been a resident of Sidney for more than five years and was appointed to the board by former Vice Chair of the Democratic party, Brian Smith.
When asked what made him want to run again, Allen spoke of how much he enjoyed being a part of Sidney’s town council and the change taking place. “Everyone works really well together and it has been an overwhelmingly positive experience,” said Allen.
Allen has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis.
Currently, he owns Christopher Thomas Consulting Solutions, a restaurant consulting firm. He also works with adult education, focusing on digital skills through the Academy of Goodwill Industries Michiana.
Aside from town council, Allen dedicates his time to being vice chair of the Democratic Party of Kosciusko County and to his photography business, taking family photos.
One of Allen’s favorite pastimes is trying new restaurants and foods with his significant other.
Allen will be participating in the Democratic town convention on Saturday, Aug. 19, to determine the three town council candidates from that party who will be on the ballot in November. It starts at 1 p.m. in the community room adjacent to the fire station.
Any registered voters in Sidney are welcome to participate in the convention and don’t necessarily have to have voted for Democrats in the past to participate in it.
They will just have to affirm either they voted as a Democrat in the last primary election in 2022 and voted for a majority of Democrats in the last regular election in 2022 or plan to vote primarily for Democrats in the 2023 election.
