WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested for allegedly stealing a vehicle and trading it in without permission.
Charles Laustin Kreider, 33, 3489 W. 100S Lot 9, Warsaw, is charged with auto theft, a level 6 felony.
On March 31, a woman spoke with a Warsaw Police officer about Kreider stealing her vehicle.
According to court documents, the woman said she agreed to let Kreider use her vehicle earlier in the year until the winter season was over. However, she was later told Kreider traded her vehicle to a man in South Bend.
The woman said she attempted to contact Kreider about her vehicle multiple times but was unsuccessful.
A person said Kreider traded the woman’s vehicle at an Etna Green gas station.
On April 9, the woman said she saw a social media listing for what she believed was her vehicle. The post said the vehicle was for sale in South Bend.
Kreider has a prior conviction for conversion in Kosciusko County in March 2017.
