Arrests Made In Monday Night Shooting

WARSAW — No injuries were reported in a shooting that occurred Monday night, July 31, in Warsaw.
Warsaw Police were dispatched to the area of the 400 block of West Porter Street for a report of shots fired. The call was received at 7:15 p.m.
Upon arrival, investigating officers discovered a confrontation occurred between two parties. It was determined that Jose Avila Jr., discharged a firearm multiple times striking a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was identified as David Castillejo Jr., who initially fled before returning gunfire.
The Kosciusko County Jail Booking report shows Avila, 21, 221 N. Columbia St., Apt. 3, Warsaw, was arrested and booked on charges of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon. He is being held on $10,250 surety and cash.
Also arrested was David Castillejo Jr., 22, 422 W. Porter St., Warsaw, booked for criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon. Bond: $10,250 surety and cash.

All parties involved in the incident have been arrested on criminal recklessness with a firearm charges. Additional charges are being reviewed by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office.
