Protect Kids And Patrol For Speeders On Ranch Road
Dear Editor,
School will be opening soon, which means school buses will be out, along with children walking to and from school.
With that being said, this is to Warsaw Police Department: You really need to patrol Ranch Road, especially in the mornings. It’s like a race track most days. I drive that road every morning. The speed limit is 40 up to Miller’s then goes down to 30. Good luck doing 30 without someone up your tailpipe.
Thursday morning a black Jeep Cherokee was on the butt of my truck. I slowed down at the railroad tracks (like I always do) because they are rough; she was so close you couldn’t walk between the back of my truck and front of her car. When we got to the stop sign, she pulled beside me on my driver’s side, yelling at me for slowing down over the tracks, then she pulled in front of me to get onto Detroit Street. If a car had been coming from the south or turning from the north, there would have been a bad accident because this woman was an idiot.
It wouldn’t have done me any good to call 911 and given them her plate number and description of the car and driver because “they didn’t see it.” I honestly don’t know what good it even does to call 911. I was told by a dispatch person, “Unless the officer sees what the driver is doing, there’s really nothing they’ll do.” So, honestly, it’s no wonder people take matters into their own hands.
So, again, with school starting soon, please patrol Ranch Road so a child doesn’t get hit and injured or, worse, killed.
