WARSAW — New and experienced drivers may both gain road knowledge through Road Skills of Warsaw.
The Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce had a ribbon-cutting for the business located at 539 S. Buffalo St., on Wednesday, July 19.
Barb Martz bought it in January from Cory Cooper. She heard about the company when she taught driver’s education at Warsaw Community Schools and opted to take it on as “a little side job.”
She said people must only have a permit to utilize Road Skills’ programming. Martz allows customers to set up as many driving sessions as they wish.
“(The sessions) can be back to back. They can be spread out,” she said.
People can also take their actual driving test through Road Skills or learn how to be a driving instructor themselves.
“We also offer an hourly drive for somebody that just wants to refresh or get some rules of the road and understand what they need to do,” said Martz. “So we’re just trying to help people learn the correct way to drive.”
Road Skills will sometimes have people referred to them who have gotten traffic violations.
“We actually had a stroke victim that had to be released, so they came through me. That was somebody out of Fort Wayne,” added Martz.
Along with Martz, there’s one other instructor at Road Skills, with another to start soon.
To sign up for Road Skills’ sessions, people may call (574) 221-8354, email [email protected] or use the company’s website roadskillsofwarsaw.com.
