UPDATE: Driver Failed To Yield in Milford Accident
MILFORD — A two-car accident sent two people to the hospital at 9:23 a.m. Monday, July 17.
The accident happened at SR 15 and Syracuse Street in Milford. The four-way intersection has a traffic control signals going east and west and north and south.
Deana A. Downton was driving her 2014 Dodge Ram and was headed west, as Pamela Bowens was driving her 2019 Nissan Sentra SV and going south on SR 15.
Downton pulled out into the middle of intersection but the light was red and Downton, who said she didn’t see the light, collided with Bowens’ vehicle.
Bowens and a male passenger in her car, were transported by Lutheran EMS to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The total estimate of all damages in the crash is $5,001 to $10,000, according to the accident report. The primary cause of the crash is Downton’s failure to yield and disregarding a signal. According to the report, Downton’s view was obstructed.
Milford Fire Department, Milford Police Department, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office and Lutheran EMS assisted at the scene of the accident.
