ETNA GREEN — A laundromat may soon be established in Etna Green.
At a July 11 council meeting, Jesse Bubb asked for approval to place a laundromat in town. Bubb recently established a laundromat in Mentone. He told the council he’s looking at purchasing a building in Etna Green for the project and has already received approval from county officials. The council gave Bubb permission to do so.
In other business, Town Attorney Nick Jacobs informed the council a lawsuit has officially been filed against the mother of two children who are responsible for recent acts of vandalism in Etna Green. The children broke into Heritage Park’s concession stand and destroyed flowers at Remembrance Park. Jacobs said the town should hear about further action within the next 20 days.
The council also tabled further discussion on leaf pickup services for Etna Green. Council Member Susan Klinefelter said she’s contacted representatives from Brown Equipment in Fort Wayne about possibly purchasing a rebuilt unit from them for leaf pickup.
The council’s next meeting is at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8.
