Warsaw Man Arrested For Battering Two People

WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested for allegedly battering two people.
Joseph B. Williams, 45, 2119 E. Hendricks St., Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery with a child under 16 present, battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, and domestic battery with a prior conviction, all level 6 felonies; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, on Sept. 3, 2022, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy was dispatched to a residence for a domestic battery report.
The two victims, a man and woman, said they were sitting in a backyard after returning from Time Out Inn when Williams approached them and began a verbal altercation. Williams then proceeded to strike the woman with an open hand across her face, causing swelling and bruising. The man then stepped between them and was struck multiple times in the face with a closed fist, followed immediately by wrestling on the ground for a short period of time. Those interviewed all reported Williams fleeing on foot when he saw officers arriving.
Williams was also arrested in 2021 for battery.
Williams was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on June 25.
