Two Injured In Horse And Buggy Accident North Of Syracuse

SYRACUSE — Two people were injured in a horse and buggy accident north of Syracuse Wednesday, June 28. The accident occurred at 4:45 p.m. in the 72000 block of SR 13, south of US 6.
Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office reports Jonas Miller Jr., 53, Syracuse, and Erma Miller, 51, suffered head and neck injuries and complained of chest pain. They were taken to Fort Wayne Regional Hospital. A female juvenile in the buggy sustained no injuries.
Officers report Jill K. Hackleman, 57 Syracuse, was southbound on SR 13, south of US 6, when Hackleman attempted to pass the southbound buggy, but her vehicle collided with the back of the buggy.
Hackleman was not injured but was taken to the hospital for a blood draw. She was also cited for unsafe lane movement.
