WARSAW — Two Warsaw men were arrested after an incident at a local bar.
Luis David Munoz, 28, 316 S. 325E, Warsaw, is charged with battery to a public safety official, a level 6 felony; resisting law enforcement, a class A misdemeanor; and public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and false informing, all class B misdemeanors.
Victor Hugo Argumedo-Lopez, 28, 1601 E. Fort Wayne St. Apartment 1, Warsaw, is charged with operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator and operating a vehicle with an ACE of .08 or more with a prior, both level 6 felonies; and operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to .15 or more, a class A misdemeanor.
On June 10, a Warsaw Police officer noticed a speeding vehicle disregard a stop sign. The vehicle then entered a driveway.
According to court documents, the vehicle’s driver, identified as Argumedo-Lopez, told the officer he was giving Munoz a ride home because he drank too much alcohol at a local bar.
Responding officers noticed Munoz’s face was covered in blood. Munoz said a woman hit him. While officers asked Munoz about what happened, Munoz allegedly became argumentative with police. He also kicked one of the officers in the leg multiple times.
Argumedo-Lopez told officers he had multiple drinks. He failed several sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol level of 0.174.
A bartender at the location where Argumedo-Lopez and Munoz drank at said the two were asked to leave the business. Munoz hit the bartender in the face and the bartender punched Munoz once outside of the bar. The bartender told officers he did not want to press charges.
With the bartender’s statement and Argumedo-Lopez telling officers where they drank at, officers determined Munoz provided false information about a crime.
