Douglas “Doug” Duane Bitting, 72, Bourbon, died at 1:05 a.m. Thursday, June 22, 2023, at home.

He was born Aug. 5, 1950. On June 29, 1996, he married Christine Gardner-Conway, who preceded him in death in 2015.

He is survived by daughters, Apryl (Troy) Deeter, Nappanee, and Heather (Alvin) Chupp, Bourbon; sons, Chad Bitting, Goshen, Courtney (Jamie) Bitting, Etna Green, and Joshua (Tisha) Bitting, Arkansas; stepchildren, Mat (Sarah) Conway, Cromwell, Kelli (James) Rolston, Syracuse, and Trent (Sarah) Conway, Muncie; 17 grandchildren; 23 step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and five more on the way; two step-great-grandchildren and one on the way; siblings, Susan (Dana) Matthews, New Paris, Peggy (Jody) Hartman, Goshen, Kathy Collins, Goshen, Ruth (Ray) Whitehead, New Paris, Jimmie (Kim) Bitting, Goshen, Steven Bitting, Texas, and John (Dyana) Bitting, Elkhart.
