Install Red Light Cameras On US 30 Near Warsaw
Dear Editor,
How many more accidents do there need to be on our section of U.S Route 30 before there is some sort of enforcement that is applied?
I have been delivering pizzas for Papa Johns for almost a year, and I have lost count of the accidents that I have came across at each intersection, and that is just in the past year. A lot of them may have just been minor, but there are more and more that are becoming serious or even fatal that are including big 18-wheel commercial vehicles. Again, I’m just talking about what I have witnessed in the past year. Now think about the past 10 or even 20 years, and still nothing has been enforced to slow down traffic at these intersections.
I’m thinking it’s time for a change. I have traveled through many different states and may I suggest that each intersection be equipped with red light cameras that take pictures of vehicle plates that run these intersections along U.S. 30 around Warsaw. There should be a hefty fine for running these lights, like $10,000. Now, of course, you would have to put multiple warning signs of possible hefty fines for running the red light on each side of U.S. 30, but doing so will help lower the accidents and make the drivers who are commuting through our section of highway be more alert.
