Bobby Yocum — UPDATED
Bobby Yocum, 47, Larwill, unexpectedly passed away on June 8, 2023, while doing what he loved – working on the farm and farming.
Born Robert Dale Yocum, most knew him simply as Bobby. He was the son of Dale Robert and Patricia Cox Yocum, and was born in Wabash on Nov. 7, 1975. He spent his formative years in the Mentone area and was a 1994 graduate of Tippecanoe Valley High School.
In addition to his pride as a farmer, he was a proud patriot. He loved being outdoors and loved animals of all kinds. He also enjoyed camping and music of all kinds. More than anything, he was an unassuming person who would help anyone in need without judgement or question.
Those who remember his sarcastic, honest sense of humor and his generous spirit include his wife of more than 17 years: Sophia Robinson Yocum, Larwill; sons: Dakota Yocum, Fort Wayne; and Malachi Robinson, New York; daughter: Kassity Cobbs, Florida; four sisters: Becky Morales, Connie Howe, Mary Lester and Donna Pontius; and two brothers: Tom Lester and Joseph Yocum. He is also survived by four special grandchildren.
The family will hold a memorial service at Harvest Community Church, 512 S. Seventh St., Pierceton, at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 17. Friends may visit at the church for two hours prior, beginning at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers or personal gifts, the family has encouraged donations to Harvest Community Church, PO Box 93 Pierceton, IN 46562.
Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Warsaw, is entrusted with care of Bobby.
