North Webster Town Marshal Issues Scam Alert
NORTH WEBSTER — A warning has been issued to local residents by North Webster Town Marshal Greg Church. In a letter shared with InkFreeNews, Church writes:
“The North Webster Police Department has been made aware of scams using a fraudulent North Webster email. The scammers contact individuals by text message or email saying they have violated miscellaneous laws and/or traffic infractions. The text or e-mail show the message coming from a fraudulent e-mail address.
“Scammers are also calling individuals advising them they have an active warrant for their arrest and they should contact the North Webster Police Department at the number given.
“The North Webster Police Department would like you to know if you receive a text message, email or telephone call saying they are from the North Webster Police Department and they are advising of a warrant for your arrest or requesting money, please call your local police agency or the North Webster Police Department.”
