Eunice E. Sloan
Eunice E. Sloan, 92, Warsaw, passed away peacefully at home under the loving care of her family and hospice at 10:44 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023.
She was born on Nov. 16, 1930, in Grundy, Va., to Lewis and Mary (Ratliff) Blankenship.
On March 1, 1953, in Grundy, she was united in marriage to Roger Sloan. The couple would move to Warsaw in 1971.
She worked for Kimble Glass as a packer in the glass vials department before her retirement in 1996. But that wouldn’t last long and she would enjoy working at Wal-Mart in Warsaw as a door greeter.
She was a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter: Sue Hickman, Warsaw; and son: Roger C. (Lana) Sloan Jr., Warsaw; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Eunice was preceded in death by her husband: Roger, in 2014; her parents; four sisters; six brothers; son-in-law: Greg Hickman; and beloved nephew: Mitchell Blankenship.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, June 7, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. Funeral services will follow at noon with Pastor David Cripe officiating.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
