WARSAW — A Kentucky man was recently arrested for allegedly violating a no-contact order and threatening a woman.
Damen Kane Lowery, 26, Kentucky, is charged with intimidation, a level 6 felony; and invasion of privacy, a class A misdemeanor.
On June 18, 2022, a Warsaw Police officer was asked by Lowery to complete a welfare check on a child, as he hadn’t heard from them for two days. One of the child’s relatives said there was an active protective order prohibiting Lowery from contacting the child.
According to court documents, the relative also said Lowery had been threatening her in text messages. She showed the officer multiple messages from Lowery, one of which contained a picture of a shotgun and rifle laying on a blanket. Lowery also allegedly threatened to burn the child’s belongings and kill the relative.
The relative also played a voicemail she received from a blocked number, which was later identified as Lowery. In the voicemail, Lowery told the woman to answer the phone or he would “kill everybody.”
In an interview with the officer, Lowery admitted to sending the messages to the woman but said he had no intentions of carrying the threat out.
A protective order prohibiting Lowery from having any contact with the child was filed in Kosciusko County on Jan. 19, 2022. The order was personally served via postal mail on Jan. 24, 2022, with a receipt signed by Lowery.
For this case, Lowery was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on May 24, 2023, with a $6,000 surety and cash bond.
