WARSAW — A Warsaw woman was recently arrested after allegedly battering two police officers while intoxicated.
Welcome Suzanne Lloyd, 38, 1832 Sue Ave., Warsaw, is charged with two counts of battery to a public safety officer, both level 6 felonies; resisting law enforcement, a class A misdemeanor; and public intoxication and false informing, both class B misdemeanors.
On May 23, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy was patrolling on Lake City Highway when he noticed a woman waving her arms over her head and stumbling into the northbound turn lane of traffic. The deputy made contact with the woman, later identified as Lloyd, and noticed she was intoxicated.
According to court documents, Lloyd told the deputy she was “looking for her friends from Hogwarts.” She also gave the deputy a false name multiple times. While officers attempted to secure her in a police vehicle, Lloyd allegedly kicked a Pierceton Police officer in the abdomen.
Lloyd continued to fight, remove her seat belt, and move around in the police vehicle. As the altercation continued, Lloyd kicked a KCSO deputy in the thigh and also attempted to bite the deputy’s back.
Lloyd was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on May 23, with a $10,250 surety and cash bond.
