Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 3:02 p.m. Friday, May 19, North SR 13 and EMS B12 Lane, North Webster. Drivers: Brittany D. Rainford, 30, North SR 13, Pierceton; and Tonya K. Schrock, 57, East Maple Grove, Syracuse. Rainford failed to yield to Schrock’s vehicle while turning, causing a collision. Rainford complained of stomach pain and was taken to the hospital. Damage up to $25,000.
- 6:52 a.m. Friday, May 19, South SR 13, south of South CR 525E, Pierceton. Driver: Autumn S. Gregory, 31, West SR 114, Huntington. Gregory’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $10,000.
- 7:22 a.m. Thursday, May 18, East Armstrong Road and North CR 475E, Leesburg. Drivers: Lynk Klinefelter, 17, East CR 300N, Warsaw; and Robert Gholson, 57, East CR 350N, Pierceton. Klinefelter’s vehicle pulled out onto East Armstrong Road in front of Gholson’s vehicle. Klinefelter said he didn’t see Gholson’s vehicle until it was too late. Damage up to $25,000.
- 5:56 p.m. Sunday, May 14, West SR 14 and South CR 500W, Silver Lake. Drivers: Madeline G. Smith, 17, East SR 114, Akron; and James Marquell, 20, Sycamore Hills Parkway, Fort Wayne. Smith’s vehicle collided head-on with Marquell’s vehicle. Damage up to $25,000.
North Webster
Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 10:09 p.m. Friday, May 19, EMS T2 Lane, north of North CR 675E, North Webster. Driver: Eric L. Berger, 48, North Lake Street, Syracuse. Berger’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $1,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 5:10 p.m. Thursday, May 18, South Huntington Street, north of East Bowser Road, Syracuse. Drivers: Jerry M. Dain, 82, EMS D17 Lane, Syracuse; and Caleigh A. Byrer, 21, Tippe Downs Drive, Warsaw. Dain said he didn’t see Byrer’s vehicle as he was turning, causing a collision. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Office investigated the following accidents:
- 3:21 p.m. Friday, May 19, North Lake Street and West Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Adam C. Coffin, 20, East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw; Jarrad T. Allen, 30, South CR 500E, Pierceton; and Ricardo S. Castaneda, 57, North Park Avenue, Warsaw. Another driver motioned for Coffin’s vehicle to go through an intersection. He did, failing to yield the right of way to Allen’s vehicle, causing a collision. That made Coffin’s vehicle hit Castaneda’s. Damage up to $25,000.
- 6:10 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. Driver: Sarah Ruble, 24, 14th Street, Winona Lake. Ruble attempted to turn her vehicle left into a parking spot and collided with an unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
- 5:10 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 1305 Mariners Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Edward Fisher, 58, B37 Lane, Warsaw. Fisher’s vehicle hit a parked vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
- 4:34 p.m. Thursday, May 18, East Center Street and North Tamarack Street, Warsaw. Dylan King,16, 20th Road, Tippecanoe; and Richard Hoover, 37, North CR 300E, Syracuse. King’s vehicle was driving the wrong way on a one way, and he then darted across an intersection, causing Hoover’s vehicle to collide with King’s vehicle.
- 3:06 p.m. Thursday, May 18, North Detroit Street and Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Barbara Horton, 54, Sandra Lane, Winona Lake; and Kevin Howard, 30, South Maple Run, Warsaw. Horton’s and Howard’s vehicles collided. Horton was transported via EMS to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne for injuries sustained to her head, back and arms. Howard was pronounced deceased on the scene.
- 11:56 a.m. Thursday, May 18, U.S. 30 and SR 15, Warsaw. Driver: Vivian Wiggs, 20, North Ward Lane, North Webster. Wiggs’ vehicle was exiting U.S. 30 when she looked down and went off the roadway into a concrete barrier. Damage up to $5,000.
- 10:44 a.m. Thursday, May 18, South McKinley Street and East Market Street, Warsaw. Drivers, Robert Smith, 92, Nottingham Place, Winona Lake; and Markie Hellums, 30, East Market Street, Warsaw. Smith’s vehicle struck Hellums’ vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
- 8:23 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, North CR 100E south of East CR 250N, Warsaw. Driver: Genaro Z. Cacahua, 44, Turtle Bay Drive, Syracuse. Another vehicle hit a deer, which caused it to fly and hit Cacahua’s vehicle. Cacahua said his side was sore from airbag deployment, but he declined medical attention. Damage up to $5,000.
- 8:06 a.m. Monday, May 15, McKinley Street and Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Phillip J. Mathias, 45, Main Street, Rochester; and David T. Williams, 60, South McClellan Street, Warsaw. The trailer of Mathias’ vehicle hit Williams’ school bus as Mathias’ vehicle was turning. Damage up to $10,000.
