Motorcyclist Killed In Warsaw Wreck

WARSAW — A motorcyclist was killed in a wreck in Warsaw on Thursday afternoon, May 18.
First responders were called out at 3:06 p.m. to the accident at Detroit Street (SR 15) and Anchorage Road, which also involved a white 2018 Lexus GX.
According to a Warsaw Police Department press release, “officers observed that the motorcyclist sustained extensive injuries, and despite life-saving efforts, the 30-year-old male succumbed to his injuries at the scene.”
“That subject, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, was operating a gray 2019 Harley-Davidson FXDR and had been traveling northbound on Detroit Street approaching Anchorage Road. The victim’s identity is being withheld currently, pending notification of family,” the release continues.
According to the release, the 54-year-old female driver of the Lexus was trying to turn left onto Anchorage Road, having been southbound on Detroit Street. Her injuries were “significant,” and she was taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Also responding to the scene were the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory, Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office and Kosciusko County F.A.C.T.
