SILVER LAKE — A Fort Wayne man was arrested after allegedly stealing a vehicle.

Koffivi L. Kadegbe, 40, Fort Wayne, is charged with theft, a level 6 felony.

On April 16, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a report of a suspicious person in Silver Lake. Upon arrival, the deputy found Kadegbe sleeping in a blue Volkswagen Jetta.

According to court documents, the deputy discovered the vehicle was stolen and took Kadegbe into custody. Kadegbe said the vehicle belonged to his father but told the deputy he did not know his father’s name.

The Volkswagen Jetta was reported stolen to the Fort Wayne Police Department on April 14.

Kadegbe has already been arrested and released on his own recognizance.
