WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested for two criminal cases involving drugs.
In the first case, Todd Henry Shumaker, 38, 712 South Side Drive, Warsaw, is charged with dealing methamphetamine, a level 2 felony; possession of methamphetamine, a level 3 felony; dealing in a narcotic drug, a level 4 felony; and possession of a narcotic drug, a level 6 felony. Shumaker is also charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 4 felony; unlawful carrying of a handgun, a level 5 felony; and possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor.
Sometime in March, the NET 43 Drug Task Force made a controlled purchase of 56.6 grams of meth and 4.9 grams of fentanyl, a narcotic drug, from Shumaker.
On April 11, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a shot fired at a Pierceton residence. Upon arrival, deputies were informed by a neighbor about hearing a gunshot from inside the house.
According to court documents, Shumaker was in the home. The homeowner said no male subjects had permission to be in her residence.
Upon searching the home, deputies found an empty 9 mm casing, 15.2 grams of meth, and a bag of marijuana. They also found a handgun inside Shumaker’s vehicle. The handgun was loaded with 11 rounds. Shumaker allegedly denied owning the gun but said he was the last person to drive his vehicle.
Shumaker has prior convictions for meth possession, paraphernalia possession, burglary, and theft in Kosciusko County.
Shumaker has already been arrested on these two cases.
