Derrick Scott Gasaway, 31, Warsaw, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at home.

Derrick was born on June 19, 1991, in Warsaw, the son of Vince Glunt and Angela Gasaway.

He graduated Whitko High School in 2010 and was on the wrestling team and played football. He then continued on to the U.S. Army as a chemical operations specialist until 2014.

Derrick worked as a supervisor for Danco Medical. He enjoyed playing and watching basketball and outdoor activities.

Derrick will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Angi Gasaway, of Crestview, Fla.; father, Vince Glunt, of Pierceton; his son, Carter Gasaway, of Warsaw; his fiancée, Yuri Bailey, of Warsaw; sisters, Sarah (William) Foreman, of Warsaw, Chelsea (JT) Triplett, of Warsaw, and Danielle Glunt (Chaz Stanley), of Pierceton; several nieces and nephews; and Carter’s mother, Niki Shepherd. He was preceded in passing by his grandparents and a niece, Nyx Stanley.

A visitation with family and friends will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2023, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, IN 46580.
