North Webster Community Public Library — May Is National Barbecue Month

NORTH WEBSTER — May is National Barbecue Month (and National Hamburger Month and National Salad Month), so why not take this opportunity to check out the variety of cookbooks available at the North Webster Community Public Library?
The library has books with recipes for everything from delicious grilled entrees to the accompanying side dishes — even recipes for homemade buns and condiments. If you want to step up your grilling game this summer, or even just pack a better picnic basket, check out the cookbook section of the library today.
Library Closing
The North Webster Community Public Library will be closed all day Friday, May 19, for a staff training day. The library will be open for regular business hours the rest of the week.
The following activities are set to take place. Attendees do not need a library card to participate.
Adult Events
The Bucket List Book Club, 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 16. This is an informal gathering of book lovers who are interested in tackling that ever growing list of “want-to reads.” There is no assigned reading — instead participants will read a book of their choice and share about it with the rest of the group. Any and all reading styles and genres are allowed — there are no right or wrong book choices.
The Killer Reads True Crime Book Club, 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 16. This month’s reading selection is “Devil in the White City” by Erik Larson. Come prepared to discuss this book and bring suggestions about future books for the Killer Reads club.
Glean Team, 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 17. This experienced group of researchers is available for family history or genealogy research help.
The final session of “Empower Me to Be Clutter Free,” 10 a.m. Thursday, May 18. Hosted by the Purdue Extension, this class will discuss getting rid of clutter, good storage techniques and emotional barriers to relinquishing “stuff.” Register in advance by calling the library.
Exercise classes are Thursday, May 18. Get Fit While You Sit chair exercise is at 4 p.m., followed by Let’s Move dance class at 5 p.m.
Teen Events
Have the after-school blues? Stop by between 3:30-5:30 p.m. Monday, May 15, to hang out with friends, play board games and battle in Mario Kart on the Nintendo Switch. Snacks, coffee and pop will be provided. See you there — no registration is required.
Teens are invited to the library at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 18, for teen study hall. Do homework or study in a quiet, relaxed environment.
