John E. Uzubell — UPDATED
John Edward Uzubell, 65, of North Webster, previously a resident of Crown Point, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023.

He is survived by his beloved children, “Mitch” John M. Uzubell and Vanessa (Joshua) Gillenwater; one grandaughter, Sierra Gillenwater; and another grandaughter due this month, Leslie Gillenwater; two brothers, Ron (Chris) and Joe (Judy) Uzubell and families; an aunt, Sheila (Jim) Minert and family; and many nieces and nephews, along with several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald; mother and step-father, Sandra (Mack) Sublett; one sister, Kym Magiera; and one brother, Gerald “Jerry” Uzubell.
He was born in Hammond at St. Margaret Hospital on Jan. 19, 1958, and was a 1976 graduate of Lake Central High School. As an adult, he moved to Nappanee and worked at Utilimaster, pursuing a trade of woodwork and countertops to provide for his family. Later in life his family moved to the Syracuse/ North Webster area to beautiful Lake Wawasee. Among his many interests and hobbies, fishing and waterfowl hunting were his favorites. He was a funny and outgoing man with a tender heart who would go out of his way to help others in need. He made many friends during his lifetime. His family gives many thanks to those who helped him during his time of need.

Friends are invited to visit with John’s family at Titus Funeral Home & Cremation Services – Owen Chapel, 8056 E. 500N, North Webster, from 2-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, with a funeral service immediately to follow there at 3:30 p.m. Pastor Harlan Steffen will be officiating. Floral and memorial contributions can be made to the funeral home for John and his family.
