Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 8:03 a.m. Saturday, May 6, North CR 175E, north of East CR 175N, Warsaw. Drivers: Diana Velazquez, 20, East Armstrong Road, Leesburg; and Ryan M. Sutton, 22, East County Line Road, Syracuse. Velazquez was turning left onto North CR 175E and did not see Sutton’s motorcycle traveling behind a passing vehicle. Sutton sustained a head injury and also complained of right arm and leg pain. He was flown by Lutheran Air to a Fort Wayne hospital. Damage up to $5,000.
- 9:58 p.m. Friday, May 5, South Packerton Road, north of East CR 700S, Claypool. Driver: Joshua L. Bays, 44, South CR 300E, Warsaw. Bays’ vehicle left the roadway and hit a guardrail. Damage up to $10,000.
- 9:55 p.m. Friday, May 5, North CR 175E, north of East CR 200N, Warsaw. Driver: Roxanna M. Collins, 17, South Phillips Street, Warsaw. Collins’ vehicle left the roadway, entering a field and hitting a railroad post. Collins complained of right wrist pain. Several passengers in Collins’ vehicle were also injured. Aiden J. Patko, 17, Warsaw, sustained minor facial injuries and complained of rib pain. Kevin A. Maldonado-Orne, 16, Warsaw, sustained a laceration to his right arm and complained of lower right back pain. Carli M. Butt, 17, Winona Lake, sustained bruises to her head and a small laceration on her wrist. Collins, Patko, Maldonado-Orne, and Butt were all taken to a local hospital. Damage up to $10,000.
- 11:31 a.m. Friday, May 5, West CR 600N, near North CR 500W, Warsaw. Drivers: Ryan B. Rodecap, 44, East CR 950S, Amboy; and Staci M. Casbon, 59, 9A Road, Plymouth. Rodecap stopped at the CR 500W and CR 600N intersection, but did not see Casbon’s vehicle traveling west. Casbon complained of hand pain and had a small abrasion on her chin. She said she was going to seek medical treatment on her own. Damage up to $25,000.
- 11:29 a.m. Friday, May 5, East CR 250N, west of North CR 100E, Warsaw. Drivers: Bruce E. Hyde, 84, East Old Road 30, Warsaw; and Robert L. Dailey, 75, East Huntington Street, North Webster. Hyde’s vehicle rear-ended Dailey’s. Damage up to $2,500.
- 8:17 a.m. Friday, May 5, West CR 200S, east of South Old SR 15, Warsaw. Drivers: Blake E. Bradford, 35, North Adams Street Apartment D., Marion; and Amy L. Frame, 46, East CR 750S, Pierceton. Bradford’s vehicle rear-ended Frame’s. Damage up to $2,500.
- 1:42 a.m. Thursday, May 4, North Fox Farm Road, east of West Side Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Gabriel Lopez, 26, Sur Poniente Sn., Barr Candelaria, Me. Lopez’s vehicle left the roadway, hitting an REMC utility pole and junction box. Lopez complained of chest pain and was later arrested for allegedly operating while intoxicated. Damage up to $50,000.
- 3:16 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, North SR 13, north of East CR 800N, North Webster. Driver: John R. Rainford, 36, EMS B54 Lane, Warsaw. Rainford’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $1,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 3:36 a.m. Monday, May 8, US 30, west of North Parker Street, Warsaw. Driver: Aaron K. Case, 27, East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Case’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $10,000.
- 2:41 p.m. Sunday, May 7, SR 15, near East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Miguel Giron-Guzman, 28, South West Point Drive, Warsaw; and Kayla C. Montel, 36, West Main Street, Warsaw. Giron-Guzman was attempting to turn left onto SR 15 at a flashing yellow light when he hit Montel’s vehicle. Montel sustained an abrasion to her right forearm but refused treatment at the scene. Damage up to $25,000.
