Bowl-A-Thon Fundraiser A Success For Special Olympics Of Kosciusko County

WARSAW — The annual Bowl-a-Thon fundraiser for Special Olympics in Kosciusko County took place Sunday, April 30, at The Bowling Alley in Warsaw, raising $4,125 to support programs for Special Olympics athletes in the county.
Top athlete fundraisers included Jerry Davis with more than $600 and Robert Svinarich with $225.
Becky Walls, Special Olympics county coordinator, thanked Justin and Kaitlyn Miller for making balloon hats, all of the volunteers who helped organize the Bowl-a-Thon and all of the donors that made the event possible.
Donors included: Collier’s Heating & Air Conditioning, Faye Arnett, Maria’s Family Restaurant, North Manchester Midwest Eye, Robert’s Signs, Tractor, Curt Boggs, Humana/Ben Snyder, Mike Swafford, Penguin Point, The Bowling Alley, Valarie Flannigan, Dairy Queen, JB’s Furniture, Moose Family Center Lodge 1432, PNC Bank, Toni’s Foot Connection and Warsaw YMCA.
Special Olympics began in Kosciusko County in April 1973. A 50-year anniversary celebration Thursday, Aug. 24, at Tippy Creek Winery is being planned.
