Explore Kosciusko County And Win During Tourism Week
News Release
WARSAW — The Kosciusko County Convention & Visitors Bureau is hosting a weeklong giveaway to celebrate National Travel & Tourism Week, May 7-13.
Every day during the week, the visitors bureau will be giving away $25 in Kosciusko Cash.
To participate, follow Visit Kosciusko County on Facebook or Instagram, then sign up for the free, digital Engage Kosciusko Passports on VisitKosciuskoCounty.org/engage. A daily location, which is on the Engage Kosciusko Passports, will be posted to the visitors bureau social media May 7-13. Individuals who visit that day’s location and check in at that location on their passport will be entered into a random drawing to win the $25 in Kosciusko Cash for that day.
All locations will be chosen from the Trail Blazer Challenge, Public Art Trail Challenge and Adventure Challenge passports. Winners of a particular day’s drawing will be announced the following day via the visitor bureau’s social media channels, and the winning individual will also be contacted directly.
Celebrated annually the first full week in May, National Travel & Tourism Week was created by Congress in 1983 to elevate the economic power of travel in the U.S. The 40th annual National Travel & Tourism Week arrives as the industry experiences fresh growth and success after the pandemic.
Before the pandemic, in 2019, visitors spent $200 million in Kosciusko County. Additionally, $47.1 million in tax revenue, 2,161 jobs, and $39.8 million in wages were generated by tourism in the county.
The Engage Kosciusko Passport Program, which was first launched in spring of 2022, offers a way to explore Kosciusko County while earning prizes and receiving discounts at some local businesses. These passports are divided into two categories, the Sip & Savor Passports and the Challenge Passports. The Sip & Savor Passports offer entry to win $100 in Kosciusko Cash upon any trail completion, and include the Taco Trail, Breakfast Trail and Sipping Trail. The Challenge Passports offer a prize after visiting just five locations on any passport, and include the Trail Blazer Challenge, Public Art Trail Challenge and Adventure Challenge.
“Travel and tourism benefits our workforce, supports our local economy, fosters sustainability, encourages innovation, and is critical for bringing growth to our community as a whole. We hope this giveaway encourages people to be tourists in their hometown and explore Kosciusko County during National Travel & Tourism Week,” said Cori Humes, executive director of the Kosciusko County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
