LEESBURG — The former Stacy’s Restaurant and Family Dining is being transformed into Steuby’s.
Shawnee Wysong confirmed to InkFreeNews Monday, May 1, that she and her husband Steuart Wysong purchased the Leesburg business at 309 S. Main St. Its new moniker contains part of Steuart Wysong’s name.
Shawnee said the couple originally purchased Stacy’s to move their insurance business, Wysong Insurance Shoppe, into the building. However after hearing how people still wanted it to be a restaurant, the Wysongs opted to keep it an an eatery.
The restaurant will be “very community oriented,” said Shawnee. The menu should include “comfort food” with potentially monthly specials such as prime rib. There will be cocktails and beer and wine on tap, with a section of the restaurant still allotted for family dining.
Shawnee said hours will probably be lunch and dinner ones, which means the business won’t compete as much with Leesburg’s other restaurant, Little New York Restaurant.
“We’re just really excited,” she said of opening up the restaurant. They’re currently remodeling and aiming for possibly an end of July opening.
The hearing on the restaurant’s liquor license is on the agenda of this month’s Kosciusko County Alcohol and Tobacco Commission meeting set for Thursday, May 4.
