WARSAW  — The Kosciusko County Master Gardeners will offer a free gardening seminar to the public, “Summer Flower Containers,” from 7-8 p.m. Monday, May 15, at Robin Hood Community Center, 1436 Camelot Drive, Winona Lake.

The speaker will be master gardener Jennifer Finlinson, who will teach how to select, plant and care for flowers in containers that will look great all summer.

Finlinson got into flower planting when she married her landscaper husband 20 years ago.

“He had me do his flower jobs and from there I picked up some of my own clients around the lake,” said Finlinson, who has clients on Wawasee, Syracuse and Dewart lakes.

She does mostly annuals in containers and beds but also installs perennial beds and small shrubs. She maintains the beds and containers she plants, including fertilizing, weeding and watering.

The Master Gardeners group is planning future seminars on indoor gardening, food preservation and more.
