WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested after allegedly battering a woman he harmed in 2018.
Michael Alan Garman, 38, 228 N. Fort Wayne Ave., Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor; domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery with a prior sentence enhancement, a level 5 felony.
On March 1, Warsaw Police officers responded to a domestic complaint involving Garman being stabbed.
According to court documents, a woman said Garman punched her in the face three times. She repeatedly told Garman to collect his belongings and leave. After being punched, the woman pushed Garman.
Garman then placed the woman in a chokehold. The woman escaped the chokehold, grabbed silverware off of a kitchen counter and stabbed Garman.
Officers noticed a knot on the woman’s head and bruising under her right eye.
Garman was previously convicted of domestic battery in May 2019, with the woman also being the victim in that case.
For this incident, Garman was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on April 24, with an $11,000 surety and cash bond.
