Franklin D. Scott
Franklin D. “Frankie” Scott, 86, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Paddock Springs Nursing Home in Warsaw.

Frankie Scott
He was born on June 20, 1936, in Claypool, to Frank F. and Cordelia (Secor) Scott. A lot of his childhood was spent on Palestine Lake. He graduated from Mentone High School with the class of 1954 and afterward proudly served in the National Guard.
Frankie bought a house on Barbee Lake and was working for Zimmer Inc. in customer service. He then moved to Florida for a few years, but came back and was able to buy back his old home on Barbee Lake. He retired from DePuy (now Johnson & Johnson) in 1995.
He was funny with a dry sense of humor. He was a gentle and giving person and enjoyed good company and being active. Frankie was an outdoors man who loved fishing with his good friends who became family, mushroom hunting, bird watching and feeding the birds. He loved animals and helped rehabilitate a baby racoon named Rascal, had Perry the parakeet and his cat Skeeter.
Frankie was an avid outdoor shuffleboard player, even making a court in his backyard for fun nights of enjoyment. He enjoyed playing pool and golfing, and he was a devoted IU basketball fan. He loved to cook, made a delicious cherry pie and enjoyed family dinners and a good fish fry. He would never turn down a trip to Mentone B&K for a Spanish hotdog and a cold root beer.
He is survived by his dear friends who became his family, Robert (Vicki) Johnson and their sons, Trey and Tyler; his niece, Peggy Timbers; nephews, Leroy and Ronald Scott; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Frankie was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Melvin, Kenneth, Aldon and Doris; nephew, Michael Scott; and niece, Karen Vanover.
Per his wishes, no formal services will be held.
