WARSAW — The Warsaw Parks and Recreation Board was updated on the renovation of the Center Lake Pavilion building on Tuesday, April 18.
Superintendent Larry Plummer said work is continuing. Interior drywall has been completed. Stone work is set to begin next week, Plummer believes. Ceiling work will begin soon.
At the construction meeting, Plummer said contractors believed they could meet the August completion deadline. Contractors didn’t see any unforeseen issues with materials or similar items. Plummer said he thinks the biggest aspect discussed was a four-week delay on siding material, but it isn’t believed to hinder the completion date.
Plummer said the project is moving along.
Plummer also updated the board on the new park offices and maintenance building at 123 E. Fort Wayne St., which he said is near completion. Plummer said the department has moved the offices into the building and organized supplies upstairs.
He also said crews were working on landscaping Tuesday, planting trees and putting in rock. There is going to be some work done on the parking lot on April 19, with the final coat of asphalt being done next week and striping of the lot to follow.
Other work that still needs to be done includes painting of door frames.
Plummer said he hopes to have a ribbon-cutting for the new building in the next couple weeks.
