Arissa Diane Hammond, 45, of Akron, passed at 7:40 p.m., Sunday, April 9, 2023, at Mason Health and Rehabilitation of Warsaw.

Arissa was born on Oct. 16, 1977, in Rochester to Duane and Charlotte (Schultz) Hammond. She attended Tippecanoe Valley High School, and she later attained her GED. She attended the Akron Church of God.

Arissa had a deep bond with her grandmother Patty, and they shared their talents as artists. She had the privilege to grow up on her grandparents’ farm. She had a love of music and enjoyed many genres. She also enjoyed game nights with her children and friends. She was a lover of animals and steward of the earth.

She is survived by her children, Luna Patricia Chandler and fiancé Gavin Goins, of Marion, and Devan Chandler, of Warsaw; parents, Duane and Charlotte Hammond, of Akron; sister, Vanessa and husband Kristopher Schoff and expected niece, of Warsaw; and brother, Trevor Hammond, of Kalamazoo, Mich.

Arissa was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Zeno and Patty Schultz, and paternal grandparents, James and Janet Hammond.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at the Akron Church of God, 301 S. West St., Akron, with Pastors Kathy Nelson and Mandy Nellans officiating. Memorial visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service.

The arrangements have been entrusted to Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron.
