Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 11:52 p.m. Thursday, April 13, East CR 600S, west of South CR 400E, Warsaw. Driver: Jonathon D. Crosson, 28, South CR 900W, Larwill. Crosson’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $10,000.
- 2:59 p.m. Thursday, April 13, West CR 900N, east of North CR 625W, Warsaw. Driver: Timothy R. Brink, 33, North Thompson Street, Bourbon. Brink’s vehicle left the roadway and hit an REMC utility pole. Damage up to $5,000.
- 12:05 p.m. Thursday, April 13, South SR 19, south of West CR 800S, Akron. Driver: Brayden M. Farmer, 17, North CR 525W, Warsaw. Farmer’s vehicle left the roadway and entered a field. Farmer was checked at the scene for general body pain. Damage up to $10,000.
- 10:21 a.m. Thursday, April 13, South Packerton Road, north of East CR 900S, Warsaw. Drivers: Hannah D. Salmons, 21, North Shagbark Drive, Warsaw; and Rickey Bradley, 61, South Monroe Street, Sidney. Salmons was attempting to pass a vehicle when she sideswiped Bradley’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
- 9:16 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, West US 30, west of North CR 500W, Warsaw. Driver: Ruby A. Miller, 26, West CR 300N, Warsaw. Miller’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $2,500.
- 1:19 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, East US 30, west of South CR 325E, Warsaw. Drivers: Evelyn A. Powers, 45, East Wooster Road 46, Pierceton; and Gary L. Berger, 77, 3rd Road, Plymouth. Berger was traveling west on East US 30 and said there were three vehicles crossing 30 from the south. Two vehicles crossed in front of him with plenty of room; but the third vehicle, driven by Powers, crossed into the path of Berger’s vehicle, resulting in a collision. Powers’ vehicle was sent over a guardrail and rolled down a large hill. Powers had to be extricated from her vehicle. One passenger in Powers’ vehicle, Ethen R. Gardner, 21, Pierceton, was ejected and found about 10 yards from the driver’s door. Powers was taken to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne for a complaint of facial pain. Berger was taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne for chest pain. Gardner and a second passenger in Powers’ vehicle, Shawnee J. Smalley, 23, Pierceton, were both flown from the scene to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. Berger had minor facial injuries and Smalley had a general complaint of pain. Damages over $50,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 10:46 p.m. Thursday, April 13, Husky Trail, near North Pointe Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Sergio A. Morales-Ramirez, 24, East CR 200N 73, Warsaw. Morales-Ramirez’s vehicle left the roadway and rolled onto its side, hitting a mailbox in the process. Damage up to $10,000.
- 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, West Center Street, near North Lake Street, Warsaw. Driver: unknown. Two witnesses said they saw a semi traveling west on West Center Street hit a light pole. This resulted in a crosswalk sign breaking from the pole. The driver of the semi left the scene. Damage up to $50,000.
- 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, SR 15, near East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Annika C. Burner, 18, North Wayne Street, North Manchester; Ryan D. Ousley, 42, South County Farm Road, Warsaw; and Joseph R. Stump, West 100th Avenue, Crown Point. Burner’s vehicle rear-ended Ousley’s, which resulted in Ousley’s vehicle rear-ending Stumps’. Ousley complained of neck pain and Stump complained of back pain. Damage up to $5,000.
- 1:06 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, North SR 15, near West CR 250N, Warsaw. Drivers: Mason T. Meyer, 21, South CR 850W, South Whitley; and Nila Y. Myers, 36, Meadows, Nappanee. Meyer’s vehicle rear-ended Myers’. Meyer appeared to have minor leg lacerations but refused treatment at the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
