Janet E. Lipply, 83, formerly of Akron and North Manchester, passed at 9:10 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2023, at Mason Health and Rehabilitation of Warsaw.

Janet was born on Aug. 15, 1939, in Wabash, to the late Modlyth and Velma (Winebrenner) Crow. She was a 1957 graduate of Wabash High School. She was married, on June 9, 1957, in Wabash, to Maurice D. Lipply, who preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 2018.
She was a dairy farmer’s wife and had her own embroidery business. She was also a member of the American Guernsey Cattle Association. In 1973, she, with her husband, was awarded the Most Outstanding Guernsey Dairy Farmer in the United States. She attended Collamer Christian Church of South Whitley and also had been a member of the South Pleasant United Methodist Church of North Manchester and the Silver Creek Church of God of Silver Lake.
She is survived by her sons, Gary (Diana) Lipply, of Plymouth, Larry (Bobbie) Lipply, of Claypool, and Ben (Ernestine) Lipply, of Whitestown, Ind.; daughter, Cindy (Ron) Clauson, of Rochester; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and brother, Stephen (Sharyl) Crow, of Erlanger, Ky.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice; grandson, Lucas Manns; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lyle and Lottie Bammerlin.
The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, April 7, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, with Pastor David Wagner officiating.
The interment will take place in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Friday, April 7, at the funeral home.
