Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 2:36 p.m. Sunday, March 26, West Old Road 30, west of West CR 100N, Warsaw. Driver: Chelsea M. Davila, 20, South Buffalo Street, Warsaw. McKynzie G. Logan, 13, Warsaw, ran into the roadway and was hit by Davila’s vehicle. Logan was transported by helicopter with a possible head injury. Davila was taken to a hospital for difficulty breathing. Damage up to $10,000.
- 1:51 p.m. Sunday, March 26, West U.S. 30, west of North CR 800W, Warsaw. Driver: Hunzai Che, 39, Prosperity Avenue, Fairfax, Va. Che missed a road and drove into a ditch. She had a minor cut on her finger, but refused EMS. Damage up to $25,000.
- 12:45 p.m. Sunday, March 26, North CR 175E, south of North Vicky Lane, Warsaw. Drivers: Jose R. Aguilar-Valdez, 43, Middlebury Street, Elkhart; and Bonita L. Rainey, 76, EMS C19 Lane, Warsaw. Aguilar-Valdez disregarded a stop sign, causing a collision with Rainey’s vehicle. Aguilar-Valdez was arrested for never obtaining a license. Damage up to $10,000.
- 6:50 a.m. Sunday, March 26, West CR 600N, east of North CR 200W, Leesburg. Driver: Ryan N. Dye, 38, South Main Street, Goshen. Dye’s vehicle collided with a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
- 7:52 a.m. Thursday, March 23, East SR 14, west of South CR 700E, Silver Lake. Driver: Timothy A. Deneve, 46, South SR 13, Claypool. A deer collided with Deneve’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
- 7:23 a.m. Thursday, March 23, South SR 19, north of West CR 800S, Mentone. Driver: Austin B. Bradshaw, 26, Ashford Drive, Elkhart. Bradshaw’s vehicle left the roadway, hitting a road sign and becoming stuck in a field. Damage up to $2,500.
- 8:55 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, West CR 600S west of South CR 600W, Claypool. Drivers: Porter J. Rich, 16, West CR 600S, Claypool; and Janelle D. Martin, 17, East CR 450N, Rochester. Rich said he failed to yield to Martin’s vehicle. The two vehicles collided. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 25, SR 15, north of U.S. 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Goble Shepherd, 76, North Fox Farm Road, Warsaw; and Unknown. Shepherd’s vehicle was hit by an unknown vehicle. Damage: Up to $1,000.
- 11 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 920 Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Driver: Unknown. William L. Ernest’s vehicle was hit by an unknown vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
- 4:17 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2501 Walton Blvd., Warsaw. Drivers: Dorothy D. Watkins, 50, West Clearwater Drive, Warsaw; and Isabella M. Wrzesien, 30, Meadows, Nappanee. The two vehicles collided. Damage up to $5,000.
- 3:34 p.m. Thursday, March 23, U.S. 30 and Commerce Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Katie A. Reiter, 23, North Morgan Street, Mentone; and Francisco J. Salgado, 42, South Baybrook Drive, Palatine, Ill. Reiter said she was feeling like she was going to be sick. Her vehicle hit Salgado’s. Reiter was given a citation for operating without financial responsibility. Damage up to $10,000.
- 8:47 a.m. Thursday, March 23, U.S. 30 and Orthopedic Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Robin S. Wirebaugh, 54, East Fourth Street, Milford; and Amil L. Haines, 42, Alpha Street, Warsaw. Wirebaugh lost control of her vehicle due to it going through standing water on the road. Her vehicle hit Haines’. Damage up to $2,500.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 7:58 a.m. Saturday, March 25, East Steven Drive and South CR 275E, Warsaw. Driver: Moncerrat Saloma, 17, East CR 200N, Warsaw. Saloma swerved to the right to avoid another vehicle that was coming into her lane. Her vehicle hit a rock. Damage up to $10,000.
