WARSAW — An accident report from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office states a Warsaw teenager hit in a vehicle-pedestrian accident ran into the roadway prior to the collision.
At 2:36 pm. Sunday, March 26, emergency personnel responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian accident on West Old Road 30, west of West CR 100N in Warsaw.
According to KCSO’s accident report, Chelsea M. Davila, 20, Warsaw, was traveling west on West Old Road 30 in a gray 2001 Jeep Cherokee. Davila told deputies she saw a girl, identified as McKynzie G. Logan, 13, Warsaw, place her phone on the side of the road and then run into the lane of travel from south to north.
A passenger in Davila’s vehicle, Terry M. Rodriguez, said Logan did not look for traffic and ran into the roadway. A driver behind Davila’s vehicle, Chase M. Spangle, said he saw Logan run into the road and that there was no way Davila could have avoided hitting Logan.
Logan was flown by air ambulance to a local hospital for a possible head injury. Davila was taken to a local hospital for difficulty breathing.
Accident damages are estimated up to $10,000.
