Jane Leigh — UPDATED
Jane Leigh, age 85, of Leesburg, and a longtime resident of Kosciusko County, passed away at Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 3:28 p.m.
Born in Dudley, Mass., on Oct. 20, 1937, Jane was the daughter of Willam Gevry and Barbara (Hoye) Gevry. She attended school at Bartlett Junior, Senior High School and spent much of her early life in Massachusetts. On March 2, 1957, Jane was married to Francis Robert Leigh; the pair shared more than 35 years together before his passing. Their children fondly remember nearly weekly trips to the local amusement park and camping with mom and dad.
Jane was a natural caregiver and worked as a CNA for several years. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who would do anything for her family. She was a true “mama bear.” She liked bowling, winning several city leagues with her family as her teammates. She also liked trying her luck at the casino and country music. More than anything, she loved time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Those who survive with memories to treasure include four children: Kevin (Deborah) Leigh, of Atwood, Roxanne Leaming, of Leesburg, Keith Leigh, of Leesburg, and Roberta (Adam) Kline, of Columbia City; 10 grandchildren: Cathline (Chris) Hufault, of Dixon, Mo., James (Amanda) Leaming, of Holland, Mass., Kristina (Daniel) White, of North Webster, Sara (Dustin) Wheaton, of Nashua, N.H., Joshua Leaming, of Warsaw, Cody (Brianna) Stuckman, of North Webster, Kevin Stuckman, of Warsaw, Logan Kline, of Wolf Lake, Claudia (Bryce) Taylor, of Columbia City, and Mackenzie Kline, of North Webster; 23 great-grandchildren; and brother, Howard (Judy) Gevry, of Webster, Mass. In addition to her husband, Jane was preceded in passing by her parents; daughter, Karen Leigh; son-in-law, James Leaming; six siblings; and a great-grandchild.
