Señor Fajitas: Consistently Left Out Of Articles
I recently read the article about Columbia City restaurants and I noticed a disturbing trend among writers only including white-owned businesses and as a multi-generational Whitley County Resident.
Señor Fajitas — A small Mexican Restaurant that has been beloved but for some reason consistently being left out of lists and articles time after time regardless of the fact that they made the journal gazette and got raving reviews from the food critic.
It’s extremely disappointing that a barely there cafe that serves tuna on toast is getting recognized, yet a locally owned for over 15 years and never has had any controversy, is ignored once again.
Guerillmo Perales, Maria Perales, Annais Perales, Janina Perales, Guerillmo Perales II are THE American dream. There story is inspirational and should be rewarded with amazing food, drinks and family atmosphere. Everyone hugs, employees call them Ma and Pa.
We’re all invited for Carne Asada on Sundays and lots of other delicious freshly made Mexican Cuisines. This family and restaurant is what INDIANA should want to support in our community.
Instead, they are constantly left out of awards, promotions, and the recognition and complete sacrifice that Guerillmo Senior and Maria have made to make the American Dream.
I truly hope this finds you and possibly encourages you and your paper to reach out and possibly highlight some of the locally owned minority businesses. I hope to read it soon.
With Respect,
