Purdue Extension To Host Drone Training In April

WARSAW — Purdue Extension will host an unmanned aerial vehicle training in Warsaw in late April.
Unmanned aerial vehicles, or drones, can be used for a variety of purposes including scouting crops, public safety, real estate, and construction. To use a drone for commercial purposes, you must pass a test from the Federal Aviation Administration.
Purdue Extension is hosting a class that prepares you to take the test. This class will cover topics such as sectional charts, meteorology, manual and planned flights, emergency preparedness, and data management. In addition to the topics that will be covered on the exam, the class will cover different practical applications. Participants will get hands-on experience flying different drones.
The class will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, and Thursday, April 27at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds, 1400 E. Smith St., Warsaw. The cost of the program is $200 and includes class materials and lunch. Space is limited to 20 participants.
