Charles Hartman
He was born Sept. 3, 1938, in Warsaw, to Charlene (Arnsberger) Hartman and Frederick Charles Hartman. Charles enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on Sept. 19, 1961, and proudly served until his honorable discharge on Sept. 7, 1965.

He served as past commander of the American Legion Post No. 49 in Warsaw, where he was a member. Charles enjoyed the simple things in life — a good meal, watching IU basketball, fishing, and he especially loved spending time with his family.
He leaves behind his son, Jeffrey Hartman, Seattle; daughter, Amy (Jeff) Piunti, St. John, Ind.; and five grandchildren, Giovanni Keels, Brianna Hartman, Jaylen Hartman, Dominic Piunti and Nicholas Piunti. Also surviving is his brother, John Hartman, Bloomington; sister, Mary Beth (Dr. Tom) Hollingsworth, Bloomington; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Gretchen Hartman.
Charles’ life will be celebrated with a private family graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw with military rites conducted by members of the American Legion Post No. 49, VFW No. 1126, both of Warsaw, and active-duty members of the Air Force Honor Guard. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
